Community Engagement

Newbold Trust are always developing ways to be more accessible and useful to our local community.

We hold regular Open Days during the summer months, known as Garden tasters. Our Garden Taster mornings are held every Saturday from March-October. Come along and join our friendly gardeners for a free tour, skill share and social opportunity, plus home-bakes and teas.

For those who are keen gardeners we also host a volunteering morning where you can come join in with the garden team and get a delicious organic lunch in return.

The Last couple of years we hosted Dementia Adventure (DA) an award winning charity from Essex who offer outdoor experiences and holidays for people living with Dementia. Our Managing Director Deborah Benham became a certified DA leader. Since then we have partnered with national Care charity Quarriers to host a baking day for people living with Dementia and their partners, run stress management days for unpaid carers and we also have hosted a number residential holidays for those living with Dementia and their carers.

Dementia AdventureWe continue to work with many local organisations including Cathy House, Forres Academy, Earth time and more to find more ways to best serve the local community. These include:

  •  A regular ‘Movies with Meaning’ documentary and skillshare evening in collaboration with Earth time Up project and Zero waste Scotland.
  • A regular Pop Up Cafe with many activities including Chair Yoga, Karaoke, Storytelling and more (funded by Auchernack Trust)

If you have an idea of how Newbold could better support the local community we would love to hear from you! Contact: victorm@newboldtrust.org and arrange a visit.
