Gong Yoga Retreat

Gong Yoga Retreat

Radiant Self

A transformative weekend of gong sound baths and Kundalini Yoga to connect you to your inner radiance.

The Gong Co-operative bring you a wonderful, transformative weekend retreat of daily gong sound baths with a program of Kundalini Yoga sets that have been designed to support you to let go of what no longer serves you and connect gracefully with your true inner radiance. Suitable for all ages and abilities. Beginners are welcome. A beautiful way to ease into summer.

The gong is at the heart of Kundalini Yoga practice. Yogi Bhajan, the founder of Kundalini Yoga in the west, was a master gong player and added the gong to enhance many yoga classes and meditations ‘to take you further‘. Its deep vibrational resonance and total sound immersion deepens relaxation, heightens meditation and supports the journey within to your inner self.

The Guardian describes gong relaxations as an “intense sense of letting go.

This focused weekend retreat will integrate purposeful Kundalini Yoga sets with gong playing, deep relaxation gong baths including Yoga Nidra relaxations and meditations that will allow you to let go, tune-in to your truth and increase your inner radiance.

Yoga practice, gong sound baths and meditations will set the rhythm of our days, with optional early morning practice for the early risers among us, while giving ample time to relax, integrate and assimilate the experience in these beautiful surroundings.

The venue at Newbold Trust, a stone’s throw from Findhorn Bay, provides us with the space to tune out the noise of day-to-day living and deeply tune in to reset and re-energize ourselves during these light-filled summer days.

There will be a delicious, nurturing vegan menu prepared by the attentive resident chefs at Newbold and shared together as a group. Accommodation is shared. If you’d like to have a private room, this can be arranged for an additional fee when booking.

You’ll leave feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and radiant.

The Gong Co-operative

The Gong Co-operative – a community of four very enthusiastic gong players – has been instrumental in all our development as gong yogis.  The collaboration has inspired us and is at the heart of this weekend retreat at Newbold Trust, in Northern Scotland.  Our enthusiasm for the gong and its vast capacity to deepen yoga practice is at the forefront of this exciting and innovative retreat program.

Jo Coley

I have always been a seeker of the truth at the heart of spiritual practice.  Having practiced yoga for 27 years – in many forms – I discovered Kundalini Yoga, which took yoga to another level entirely, crystalising and extending my understanding of life and the practice of yoga.  My intention is to be a part of raising the vibration of individuals and groups to enhance life. I’m particularly interested in tuning in to the self and the practice of using intuition.

I’m a Level 1 a KRI (Kundalini Research Institute) qualified Kundalini Yoga Teacher and a member of the Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association (KYTA). I’ve been taught by Methab Benton to play the gong to enhance the effectiveness of Kundalini Yoga, ‘to take you further’ and also in its use as a deep relaxation tool. My earth gong, ‘Gyan’ (‘seeing with the eye of wisdom’) has become a great friend and she is there as part of my regular yoga classes, particularly for relaxation. I regularly hold deep relaxation sessions, of which the gong has a key part, both as regular public sessions and privately. These create a space for deep meditation, healing (emotional and physical) and truly letting go.

Carole Monnier

After a dedicated yoga practice spanning over 20 years, Carole finally took the step and certified as a Level 1 Kundalini Yoga (KRI) teacher in 2017. She also had the great pleasure of training with Mehtab Benton to learn how to play the gong for yoga and relaxation. Her 30” Platonic Year gong has become a fixture in her life and she deeply enjoys sharing her passion for its incredible resonance and meditative qualities with anyone willing to listen! Prior to yoga, she was trained in Sophrology in France, which gave her the opportunity to teach dynamic relaxation techniques to clients as she lived and travelled through France, Indonesia and now Scotland. Carole is now offering Kundalini Yoga classes and Gong relaxation in Aberdeenshire. She believes that we’re all capable of connecting to our inner being to realise our full potential and that we can have fun doing it!

Hayley Dorian

Hayley fell in love with Kundalini Yoga at the beginning of 2014. She decided to teach it because it offers a tangible path in the real world to self-awareness and transformation. Hayley is a KYTA qualified teacher of Kundalini Yoga and has also trained with Mehtab Benton for Gong Yoga and Gong therapy. She’s currently in the process of furthering her knowledge in order to reach out and offer Kundalini Yoga to children and teens, the older and/or less mobile generation and to help those who may be dealing with death and trauma. She’s also deepening her knowledge around nutrition, primarily Ayurveda, which is one of the world’s oldest holistic healing systems. Hayley thrives on sharing this knowledge and guiding other on their personal path.
