Mindfulness is a path to balance and well-being. To be mindful is to be truly alive. This retreat offers a bespoke personal practice experience, as well as a breathing space where you can simply be. Combining Mindfulness meditation, yoga, outdoors experience and time to just relax, our team of qualified teachers will guide you through five days tailored to your individual needs. Whether you are new to Mindfulness or wish to take your next steps, this programme supports you in cultivating presence, inner resilience and joy.

We work with the core practices of sitting and walking meditation, encouraging kindness and self-compassion. You learn how to bring Mindfulness into every-day life, and a personalised practice plan will be developed to support your ongoing practice at home. Yoga sessions are aimed at strengthening your mindfulness of the breath and body and clarity of mind, guiding you into deeper embodiment. And finally, enjoy going wild with a guided outdoors experience in Scotland’s fine scenery.

There will be plenty of time to relax and unwind and to go for strolls through the fields and woods on our doorstep. Enjoy the nourishing environment and warm, friendly atmosphere of Newbold House as well as lovingly home-made, wholesome food.

Mindfulness retreats are available all throughout the year based on the availability of accommodation and teachers.

_9086117Susanne Olbrich is an experienced Mindfulness teacher who has been engaged in Mindfulness practice and study for over twenty years. She sees Mindfulness as her path in life and is committed to sharing the benefits with others. Susanne completed a teacher training in Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) with Bangor University and is a trained National Mindfulness Teacher in the tradition of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. As a pianist and music teacher, Susanne also offers Mindfulness retreats with a focus on music and creativity. She is the co-founder of the Mindful Artists Network.


ceri3Ceri Oakley, also known as Swami Ambika, has been immersed in Sivinnanda yoga teaching philosophy for the past twenty years.  She has spend her life teaching the Sivananda tradition of Yoga in Canada, America, India and the Bahamas. She exemplifies Yoga as joyful, light-hearted practice and has a contagious laugh that mirrors her approach to life.
